There is a type of beauty that once viewed cannot be forgotten. It’s so striking that it refuses to fade from memory, but appears again and again, unbidden, in dreams and in unexpected moments. Such is the vision of Haunted Beauty Ghost™ Barbie® Doll from Bill Greening, and she is beyond the power of any mortal to resist.
I just returned from this year’s Barbie® Convention held at the Hyatt Regency in Orange County, CA, and as is often the case, I can’t wait to go back next year! Ready? OKAY!! Clap your hands and give a cheer — the peppiest dolls of the year are here! We’re celebrating the debut of four new University-themed Barbie Dolls, a series that pays tribute to some of the most celebrated colleges across the U.S.
The Spring 2012 Barbie® Collector line included a breath of fresh air with the newly minted Dolls of the World® Collection. China and Ireland were represented in nods to popular entries in the remarkable 30-year history of the collection. Australia made a long-awaited return, and Argentina was represented for the first time.
As the dolls in the 2012 Barbie Fashion Model Collection continue to be revealed throughout the year, one thing has become very clear. Principal designer Robert Best is making a significant fashion statement that goes beyond simply dressing the world’s most remarkable doll!
Mattel is now accepting applications for the 2012 Collector Advisory Panel (CAP). Since its inception in 1997, the Collector Advisory Panel has provided a special opportunity for open communication with the collecting community and our dedicated Barbie® Collector team here at Mattel headquarters.
