Sci-Fi Women Who Rocked the Future of Fashion!
Fashion and science fiction capture my imagination because of their projections of the future. The fashion world depends on it, with designers displaying tomorrow’s looks on runways before the designs are mass-produced. Likewise, science fiction offers a peek at fantastical worlds of the future, and tantalizing marketing campaigns for sci-fi movies often get me hooked — especially to check out the fashions!
ATELIER
by Tara Zucker
The French word "atelier" might sound highfalutin, but it simply means "workshop" or "studio." It doesn't matter whether it's a sun-drenched loft with a view of the Eiffel Tower, or a converted garage with a view of the driveway; an atelier is a space to think, to dream, and to create.
You Can Dance!
In a previous post, I recalled my attempts to sing in preparation for our high school musical Guys and Dolls. Wrapped Up in Scarves

I am obsessed with collecting scarves. Despite living in sunny Southern California, I keep buying more!
Why this unabashed affection for a toasty neck wrap? Because a scarf is the perfect accessory. It dresses up any outfit, never goes out of fashion, and — thanks to the recent trend of lighter summer scarves — can be sported year-round. Plus, unlike a necktie, a scarf can be worn several ways: Draped, looped, layered, knotted, or elegantly tossed over one shoulder!
