There are some dolls you just know you’re going to want; maybe her outfit is from your favorite designer or she’s part of a series you’re collecting. But sometimes a doll comes along that you don’t expect to fall in love with, like the Stephen Burrows Alazne™ Barbie® Doll…
She took me by surprise. When I first saw her, I admired her, of course; it’s obvious how stunning she is, with gorgeous caramel skin and beautiful big eyes. Her sparkling gown is glamorous and sophisticated, and her metallic opera gloves add a modern touch that keeps her young and fun.
But the more I looked at her, the more I felt I was looking at someone I knew. And then it hit me… this striking doll reminded me of one of my very best friends in the entire world, Mimi!
It’s not that the Alazne™ Barbie® doll looks exactly like her, although there certainly is a resemblance. It’s more that this beautiful doll seems to capture my friend’s true inner spirit.
My friend Mimi is a poet, performer, writer, and painter. She’s a true artist, and her love of creative expression shines through in everything she does. And, like the Alazne™ Barbie® doll, she projects a confident image of beauty and sophistication.
When I look at the Alazne™ Barbie® doll, I am instantly drawn to her serene expression, her sparkling eyes that seem to take in the world and say, “What exciting adventure is waiting for me today?” Her pose is self-assured yet also open and friendly. She’s unique and slightly exotic, but she also draws you to her, like a fabulous friend inviting you to share a fun secret.
I’m not sure how the designer managed to capture the essence of my friend Mimi, but I’m glad he did. The Stephen Burrows Alazne™ Barbie® Doll makes me smile, just like my friend does.
Do you have any dolls that remind you of a special friend or family member? We’d love to hear about her!
