Mattel and Stephen Burrows Collaborate to Benefit the High School of Fashion Industries

By Allen Voivod

Mattel has joined renowned fashion designer Stephen Burrows for a special event to benefit the students of the High School of Fashion Industries in New York!

On August 19th, at 10:00am, more than 100+ students from HSFI – recognized as one of America’s best high schools by U.S. News and World Report – will get to meet Stephen and receive an autographed Barbie® doll designed by Stephen himself.

Mattel is donating the dolls for signing, and covering transportation costs for students to get to and from school for the event.

Through The Barbie® Collection, Mattel is also donating 200 more of Stephen’s dolls to support HSFI’s Visual Merchandising Curriculum. Students in the “Visual Communication” class will be creating window displays using the dolls as inspiration. Previous HSFI students have had their prototypes and designs displayed in the windows of Sak’s Fifth Avenue and Barney’s.

Please join us in thanking Stephen and HSFI for their creative and collaborative roles in making this event possible!
