I first heard about the Twilight novels from a close friend’s daughter, and I must say, her giddy enthusiasm was contagious! Based on her glowing review and curious about this growing phenomenon, I picked up Twilight at an airport bookstore and sank my teeth (sorry) into the story during my cross-country flight. By the time I landed, I was hooked. Like so many fans, I was in the Twilight zone.
Cut to: Several years and film adaptations later, Stephenie Meyer’s sweeping saga comes to a spectacular end with the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2. It’s been a fangtastic journey with now-iconic characters: Bella Swan, the Cullen clan, and the entire vampiric, lycanthropic crew! Though through it all, I still haven’t decided if I’m Team Edward or Team Jacob. (Clearly, I have commitment issues.)
As transfixed as I’ve been by Twilight’s romantic triangle, I’m excited to see several supporting characters getting their due — in the latest movies and in the new Barbie Collector series. The patriarch of the Cullen coven makes his Collector debut with the Breaking Dawn — Part 2 Carlisle Doll, dressed in confidence-inspiring doctor attire with monogrammed lab coat. His lovely wife, Esme, casts an enchanting spell in her black pencil skirt and vibrant purple top with ruffled accents. One of their adoptive sons, hunky Emmett muscles his way onto the scene in a dashing vest, button-up shirt, and wrist cuff adorned with the Cullen family crest.
Bloodthirsty for more? Breaking Dawn — Part 2 may be the final chapter of Bella Swan’s tale (her Swan song, if you will), but the character lives on through the Bella Vampire Doll, immortalizing her ultimate transformation into a vampire. This haunting doll captures Bella’s unearthly beauty with cascading hair, fair complexion, and piercing vampire eyes. Wearing a brown leather-like jacket with matching leggings and boots, she’s forever fierce and fashionable!
